As of July 1st, we now require our clients to hire an experienced “day of” coordinator. I have fully and carefully considered this policy as I realize that this will undoubtedly place an additional expense upon our clients. However, I feel (based on experience) that a coordinator is just as necessary as an Officiate.
Here is the thing, it is my CONSISTENT experience that it has NEVER occurred where a wedding day goes entirely as planned. I simply do not have the heart to permit our client’s vision to deteriorate because I care and I know how important it is.
Unfortunately, when we step in to help out, we are unable to remain true to our own responsibilities and the timeline inevitably becomes skewed.
A seasoned, local, experienced coordinator has the unique perspective of having firsthand knowledge of the quality, consistency and work ethic of most industry professionals.
A coordinator will know what to be prepared for and is seasoned at efficient solutions to many seemingly unpredictable challenges. They develop a timeline and are diplomatically dogmatic about ensuring everyone is on schedule. They are highly organized, resourceful and alert.
You can be sure that every person you hire to serve at your wedding celebration will be on the top of their “game” as they are not only serving you and your guests but every couple that your planner will work with in the future....and they can often negotiate price discounts or incentives on your behalf, ultimately saving you as much as or more than their fees. Win-win!
I have always strongly encouraged our clients to consider a coordinator in the past, but I have now seen and experienced enough at weddings that I feel it is the right thing to do to require at least a day of coordinator in order to ultimately protect the “once-in-a-lifetime” experience our clients and their guests deserve.
Below are some recommendations for Wedding Coordinators whom we have worked with and have reasonable rates, are professional and consistent and most importantly organized and efficient.
They offer free consultations, have different levels of service and are reputable and ethical in their business relationships.
They have established working relationships and are often preferred vendors at many locations.
